Mashrafe Mortaza

 

In October 05, 1983, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was born in Narail District, Jessore. He is a former Bangladeshi cricketer and former captain of the national side. His father name is Golam Mortaza and mother name is Hamida Mortaza.


He completed his early education in Narail district. He completed his secondary   in 1999 from Narail Government High School, Higher secondary from Narail Victoria College in 2001. He starts his graduation at Jahangirnagar University in Philosophy in 2003-04. He was more focused on his game than his studies. 


While in Victoria College, he fall in love with Sumona Haque Sumi and he married her in 2006. These lovely couples have a son and a daughter.

His first test match debut against Zimbabwe at Bangabandhu National Stadium, Nov 08, 2001 and played career last test match against West Indies at Arnos Vale Ground, Jul 09, 2009. In Nov 23, 2001 he played his first odi match against Zimbabwe at MA Aziz stadium. Last played odi match vs Zimbabwe at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Mar 06, 2020. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza known as the 'Narail Express'. Mortaza is marked one of the fastest bowlers in Bangladesh Cricket Team, his average speed was 80 mph (130 km/h). He always opens bowling. He is a batsman too; his batting position was lower-middle order batsman. His career has been plagued by numerous injuries.


Though his entire career was in injury but Mashrafe Mortaza was a most successful captain in Bangladesh Cricket. He is a dedicated soul for Bangladesh cricket.

Mashrafe Mortaza has not retired from Test cricket; he was forced to quit playing Test matches after he injured his right leg. On 4 April 2017, Mashrafe Mortaza announced his retirement from Twenty20 internationals. In March 2020, when Zimbabwe toured Bangladesh, the BCB announced that it would be Mortaza's last series as captain of the ODI team. Prior to the third ODI, Mashrafe Mortaza confirmed that he would be stepping down ODI captain after the series.


He is very popular in Narail, leading to him being dubbed their 'Prince of Hearts'.
